Biography

Trondur was educated in Norway beginning his career with sculpting but later concentrated on painting and glass works. In fact Trondur is not only a painter and a sculptor, but also a blacksmith and glass artist.

But first and foremost he is a Faeroe Islander as he is deeply attached to the ocean and mountains. As the story goes, he once went up to his favourite spot, which provides a breathtaking view of rocks and the ocean.

While he sat there gazing at the mountain wall which is nothing more than immense black rocks with odd shapes and forms and criss-cross lines, he then decided that this soul of the mountain would be his underlying theme throughout his work. His goal is to visualize the invisible; he is constantly creating this ocean and mountain feeling, containing a lot of colours but very little form.
